Fishing in Tonga with Blue Sky Charters
With over 25 years of fishing experience in Tonga, Blue Sky skipper Andrew Pollard has plenty of insider knowledge to make your day's fishing a successful one. Our charters departs from our private dock at Hakula Lodge which has an IGFA certified weigh station at 8.00am returning at 5.00pm. Within 5 mins from leaving the dock we are fishing. We normally run some small lures on the way to the marlin grounds which are located 500m from the edge of the island group, where the ocean drops from 400m to 1200m. This drop off run north - south along the whole island group. We also have 3 FAD's placed in stratigic positions along the drop off which normally hold bait fish and bigger pelagics. On board Blue Sky we have both light and heavy tackle, chair and stand up, we prodominatley target Marlin, Sailfish and Yellowfin Tuna on heavy tackle and GT's, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Spanish Mackerel on light tackle.
On Blue Sky we promote tag & release, in saying that we are also quite open to taking some fish for the table as we know most anglers like to eat some fish that they have caught.
We supply morning tea, lunch and drinking water for your day aboard Blue Sky
